  1. Bridlington Town (Northern Counties East League Premier Division) v Harrogate Town (National League North)

Step 5 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Bridlington Town are in the 2nd Qualifying Round for the first time in 13 years. Harrogate Town lost to the original Bridlington Town in the FA Cup in the 1963/64 season, but did make the 2nd Round Proper as recently as four years ago.

 

  1. Handsworth Parramore (Northern Counties East League Premier Division) v Burscough (Northern Premier League Division 1 North)

Step 5 v Step 4

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Handsworth Parramore are in their third FA Cup campaign and have already won more FA Cup matches in this season than in the two previous seasons put together. Burscough are in their 70th FA Cup campaign and made the 2nd Round Proper 11 years ago

 

  1. Witton Albion (Northern Premier League Division 1 South) v Stalybridge Celtic (National League North)

Step 4 v Step 2

The most common pairing in this season’s 2nd Qualifying Round having met five times in the FA Cup in the past, with the lower league side Witton Albion winning on the last four occasions.

Both sides have reached the 2nd Round Proper in the past, but The Albion have not gone beyond the 2nd Qualifying Round for five years.

 

  1. Blyth Spartans (Northern Premier League Premier Division) v Morpeth Town (Northern League Division 1)

Step 3 v Step 5

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs

Blyth Spartans famously made the 5th Round Proper in 1977/78 season whilst Morpeth Town have yet to appear in the Proper Rounds of the competition and haven’t reached or gone beyond the 2nd Qualifying Round for 17 years.

 

  1. Bishop Auckland (Northern League Division 1) v Trafford (Northern Premier League Division 1 North)

Step 5 v Step 4

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Trafford need one more win to equal their best FA Cup run whereas Bishop Auckland have made it as far as the 4th Round Proper in the past. However, the Bishops have not gone beyond the 2nd Qualifying Round for 17 years, but have already knocked out two Northern Premier League Division 1 North clubs this season.

 

  1. Nantwich Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division) v Marine (Northern Premier League Premier Division)

Step 3 v Step 3

One previous FA Cup meeting in 1993/93 won 1-0 by Marine.

Marine made the 3rd Round Proper in the season when the two clubs met in the FA Cup, whilst The Dabbers best run has been to the 1st Round Proper just five years ago.

 

  1. Ashton Athletic (North West Counties League Premier Division) v FC Halifax Town (National League North)

Step 5 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Ashton Athletic are the last representatives of the North West Counties League in this year’s competition and are appearing in the 2nd Qualifying Round fir the 1st time ever in what is their 9th FA Cup campaign. In fact the club hadn’t ever won more than one match in any of their previous eight campaigns. FC Halifax Town have made the 1st Round Proper four times, including in each of the last three seasons, and have only ever been knocked out of the FA Cup as early as the 2nd Qualifying Round once before, in their debut season in 2008/09.

 

  1. Curzon Ashton (National League North) v Consett (Northern League Division 1)

Step 2 v Step 5

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Consett are the only Step 5 club drawn away at a National League side so on paper have the toughest FA Cup task of all teams in the 2nd Qualifying Round. Made even tougher given the club has not gone beyond this round for 20 years, although they have made the 1st Round Proper in the past. Curzon Ashton made the 2nd Round Proper as recently as the 2008/09 season.

 

  1. Altrincham (National League North) v Gainsborough Trinity (National League North)

Step 2 v Step 2

Two previous FA Cup meetings between the two clubs with Trinity winning in 1933/34 season and Altrincham triumphant in the 1992/93 season.

The Blues appeared in the 3rd Round proper in the 19th Century but have only made it as far as the 2nd Round Proper since qualifying rounds were introduced. Altrincham had a golden period in the 1980s making it as far as the 4th Round Proper 31 years ago.

 

  1. Kidsgrove Athletic (Northern Premier League Division 1 South) v Matlock Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division)

Step 4 v Step 3

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Both clubs are looking to make the 3rd Qualifying Round for the first time in a few years with Kidsgrove waiting five years and Matlock waiting six years since last appearing in it. Matlock have at least appeared in the Proper Rounds in the past having made the 3rd Round Proper 40 years ago.

 

  1. Lancaster City (Northern Premier League Division 1 North) v Darlington 1883 (National League North)

Step 4 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Lancaster City have twice made the 2nd Round Proper in the past whereas Darlington 1883 are appearing in the 2nd Qualifying Round for the first time since re-forming. In fact it’s the first time the club has been exempted until this round.

 

  1. Alfreton Town (National League North) v AFC Fylde (National League North)

Step 2 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Both clubs have made the ‘Proper’ rounds in the past, Alfreton Town twice in the 2nd Round Proper in their last eight campaigns, AFC Fylde three times in the 1st Round Proper including in both the last two years. The Reds of Alfreton haven’t gone out of the FA Cup as early as the 2nd Qualifying Round for six years.

 

  1. Tadcaster Albion (Northern Premier League Division 1 North) v Farsley Celtic (Northern Premier League Division 1 North)

Step 4 v Step 4

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs, although Tadcaster did lose to the original Farsley Celtic in the 1998/99 season.

Tadcaster Albion need one more win to equal their best ever FA Cup run whilst Farsley Celtic are equalling their best run since re-forming.

 

  1. Bradford (Park Avenue) (National League North) v Salford City (National League North)

Step 2 v Step 2

Two previous FA Cup meetings between the two clubs both won 1-0 by Salford in 2000/01 season and last year in a replay.

The current Bradford (Park Avenue) club has made the 1st Round Proper on three occasions (the club reached Quarter Finals three times before being liquidated in 1974) whilst Salford achieved their best run to the 2nd Round Proper last season.

 

  1. Workington (Northern Premier League Premier Division) v Shildon (Northern League Division 1)

Step 3 v Step 5

Two previous FA Cup meetings between the two clubs with one win apiece, both with a 2-1 scoreline.

Shildon made the 2nd Round Proper 80 year ago whilst Workington made the 4th Round Proper three years earlier, but have gone out of the FA Cup in the 2nd Qualifying Round in both of the last two seasons.

 

  1. Dunston UTS (Northern League Division 1) v Chorley (National League North)

Step 5 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Dunston UTS knocked a Step 3 side out of the competition in the previous round but have not been beyond the 2nd Qualifying Round for 13 years when they achieved their best of the 4th Qualifying Round. Chorley have reached the 4th Qualifying Round in both the last two seasons and have twice appeared in the 2nd Round Proper.

 

  1. Stockport County (National League North) v Hyde United (Northern Premier League Division 1 North)

Step 2 v Step 4

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs despite their close proximity and 185 FA Cup campaigns between them.

Hyde United have made the 1st Round Proper on three occasions whilst Stockport County reached the 5th Round Proper twice as a Football League club, although being knocked out in the 2nd Qualifying Round last season was their worst FA Cup performance for 119 years..

 

  1. Ossett Town (Northern Premier League Division 1 North) v FC United of Manchester (National League North)

Step 4 v Step 2

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Ossett Town have yet to make it as far as the Proper Rounds of the competition in 40 campaigns whilst FC United reached the 2nd Round Proper six years ago.

 

  1. Spennymoor Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division) v Whitby Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division)

Step 3 v Step 3

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs although Whitby Town were drawn against Spennymoor United six times being victorious on five of those occasions.

Spennymoor Town still yet to reach the Proper Rounds reaching the 4th Qualifying Round two years ago whereas Whitby Town made the 2nd Round Proper twice in the 1980s.

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs.

Rushall Olympic have reached the 4th Qualifying Round three times in their last nine campaigns whilst Kettering Town have twice appeared in the 4th Round Proper, most recently in the 2008/09 season.

 

  1. Kirby Muxloe (United Counties League Premier Division) v Boston United (National League North)

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs

Kirby Muxloe are the last representatives of the United Counties League and are appearing in the 2nd Qualifying Round for the first time ever in their 8th FA Cup campaign only ever having got as far as the Preliminary Round in the past. Boston United have made the 4th Round Proper four times in the past most recently 12 years ago.

 

  1. Sutton Coldfield Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division) v Hereford (Southern League Division 1 South and West)

Sutton Coldfield have twice made the 1st Round Proper but have not gone beyond the 2nd Qualifying Round for seven years.

Both clubs have made the 2nd Round Proper in the past Brackley as recently as three years ago and Rugby twice in the last quarter of the 20th Century.

One previous FA Cup meeting between the two clubs, a real classic 31 years ago eventually won 4-3 by the Harriers.

Staines Town have made the 2nd Round Proper in the 21st Century whilst Maidenhead have gone further than any other club in this year’s 2nd Qualifying Round making the Quarter Finals three times in the 19th Century.

Both clubs have reached the 2nd Round Proper in the past, Harrow Borough in the 1983/84 season and Uxbridge 143 years ago, the longest any club has gone since achieving their personal best in the FA Cup. This year Uxbridge are trending towards the 4th Qualifying Round.

North Leigh are just one win away from their best ever FA Cup run achieved last season for the third time, whilst Weston-super-Mare have reached the 2nd Round Proper and have not been knocked out of the FA Cup as early as the 2nd Qualifying Round for seven years.
