One previous FA Cup meeting, a 2002/03 Preliminary Round tie won 3-2 by Bishop Auckland.

Nelson won their first FA Cup tie in 13 years by beating Ashington in the last round, but haven’t gone beyond the Preliminary Round for 49 years. They have appeared in Second Round three times in the past, but Bishop Auckland has gone as far as the Fourth Round, although that was 62 years ago.

Alsager disposed of a Step 5 club in the Extra Preliminary Round and another upset would at least equal their best ever Cup run as achieved for the third time last season, whilst Winsford United has appeared in the Second Round in the past, but that was in 1887/88 when still called Over Wanderers and in the season before Qualifying Rounds were introduced for the first time. It is 12 years since they went further than the Preliminary Round.

Parkgate registered their first FA Cup win in five seasons by beating Irlam in the Extra Preliminary Round, whilst Burscough made the Second Round as recently as 2005/06 and have not been eliminated in the Preliminary Round for 24 years.

Heanor Town have appeared in the First Round six times, but last in 1963/64, and haven’t made the First Qualifying Round for five years. Long Eaton have made the Third Qualifying Round four times.

Lincoln United reached the First Round twice in the 1990s whilst Carlton Town has only made the Third Qualifying Round, but have done so twice in the last four years.

First FA Cup meeting between the two clubs as Ashby Ivanhoe are in their debut season

Loughborough Dynamo have twice made the Second Qualifying Round but have been knocked out in the Preliminary Round in each of the last three seasons. Ashby Ivanhoe knocked out a higher league Step 5 club, Quorn, in the Extra Preliminary Round.

Two previous FA Cup meetings between the clubs with one win apiece. Stamford won 6-2 in 2008/09, Sleaford won 3-1 a year later.

Stamford have the unusual personal best in the FA Cup of the Fifth Qualifying Round achieved in 1914/15 season and haven’t been knocked out in the Preliminary Round for five years. A win for Sleaford would match their best FA Cup run achieved three times in their eight campaigns so far.

Herne Bay have reached the Fourth Qualifying Round twice in the past and are trending to a Third Qualifying Round this year after going one round further than the previous year in the last two seasons. East Grinstead have appeared in the Second Qualifying Round five times but have not gone beyond the Preliminary Round for six years and three campaigns.

Molesey have reached the First Round four times, most recently in 2012/13, and have not gone out of the FA Cup in the Preliminary Round since 2007/08 season. Godalming made the Fourth Qualifying Round in 2011/12.

One previous FA Cup meeting between the two clubs in the same Preliminary Round just two seasons ago won 2-0 by AFC Totton.

AFC Totton reached the Second Round Proper as recently as 2011/12 whilst Gillingham Town have twice appeared in the Second Qualifying Round.

One previous FA Cup meeting between the two clubs, a 2007/08 First Qualifying Round encounter won 4-3 by Bashley in a replay after a 1-1 draw against the then name VT FC.

Bashley made the Second Round in 1994/95 season but have gone out of the FA Cup in the Preliminary Round in both of the last two seasons, whilst Sholing made the Third Qualifying Round in 2012/13.

 

  1. Amesbury Town (Wessex League Premier Division) v Bemerton Heath Harlequins (Wessex League Premier Division)

The two clubs met in last year’s Extra Preliminary Round with Bemerton Heath Harlequins triumphing 2-1 to prevent Amesbury from getting their first ever FA Cup win.

However, Amesbury Town have achieved that first win now at the fifth attempt whilst The Harlequins made the Third Qualifying Round in their first FA Cup campaign in 1992/93.

However, the club has already seen off one higher league Step 5 club after beating Newport (IOW) in the Extra Preliminary Round.

One previous FA Cup meeting between the two clubs, a 2012/13 First Qualifying Round tie won 3-2 by Bideford in a replay after an initial 2-2 draw

Bideford have reached the First Round Proper on four occasions and have been knocked out in the Second Qualifying round in each of the last five seasons, whilst Bodmin Town reached the Third Qualifying Round in 2012/13.

 

  1. Taunton Town (Southern League Division 1 South and West) v Tiverton Town (Southern League Division 1 South and West)

Three previous FA Cup meetings between the two clubs with Taunton winning twice, including a 5-0 First Qualifying Round victory in 1980/81, and Tiverton winning once, 2-0 in a Second Qualifying Round replay the last time the teams met in 2002/03.

Both clubs have made the First Round Proper in the past, Tiverton Town seven times and Taunton Town in 1981/82, although they are trending for Third Qualifying Round this year after going one round further than the previous season in the last two years.

This is one of two of the 160 Preliminary Round ties to contain two clubs with the same initials.

Bridgwater Town have twice made the Third Qualifying Round whereas a victory for Plymouth Parkway would equal their best ever FA Cup run achieved three times in their four campaigns. Parkway have also already knocked out a higher league side in this season’s Extra Preliminary Round.

Both clubs are equalling their best ever FA Cup run so one of them is guaranteed to appear in the First Qualifying round for the first time ever. Shepton Mallet have been here five times before whereas it is only the second time for Portishead who have already disposed of one Step 5 club this year in the Extra Preliminary Round.
